Asalaamu Alaikum. I hope you will all be in highest state of health and Imaan by the Grace of Allah.
In this time of National crisis, the Government has announced that all children are to learn remotely until the February half term, 12th February 2021.
As from Monday 11th January 2021 the school will continue with its Remote Learning through MS TEAMS, as per Students timetables in order for us to continue to provide a high- quality education for all students.
It is important that all students engage fully in order to keep up with their studies and to ensure full attendance. Our School Office will be following up on non-attendees as they would under normal circumstances.
It is also important that Parents continue to pay school fees on time, to ensure that staff can continue to deliver the full curriculum.
GCSE examinations in the summer will not go ahead as planned. Alternative arrangements will be put in place to allow students to progress fairly. Vocational examinations are due to go ahead. We await further details from the Department for Education on all these arrangements.
At Iqra Academy our parents can keep paying through Bank transfers;
TSB, Sort code 30 96 60, Acc. 00058004
Or can pay cash through the K2 Offices (our Proprietors business address) between 10am – 2pm Monday to Friday. K2 Care, 805, Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE1 3HG.
We need Parents support more than ever to keep the school running, as we will get through this and the school and life will get back to normal.
Safeguarding and supporting SEND students remains a priority and our School leads are as always available. Safeguarding lead – Mrs Amira Nasir, firstname.lastname@example.org SEND lead – Mrs Farhat Jabeen, email@example.com
Support for children of Single parent families where the parent has themselves fallen ill:
The NSPCC is available to support single parent families who are worried about the impact of the coronavirus, on their families. Go to https://www.nspcc.org.uk/search/?query=CORO-NAVIRUS for general advice. Families can also find a wide range of support in leaflets and contacts here. ‘Gingerbread – single parents, equal families’ also has advice and helplines for parents to use. https://www.gingerbread.org.uk/coronavirus/.
Iqra Academy is also following Government guidance and offering any Vulnerable students or students of Key Workers the opportunity to still physically attend school at this time of National crisis. We do have contingency plans with TDET schools in order to meet this need if required. Email our Safeguarding Lead for further details.
